At J.W. Health & Physio we also practice the ancient form of medicine, acupuncture. Used as a medical treatment for over 3,000 years, fine needles are inserted into specific points in the body over channels called meridians, to give pain relief and help harmonise and balance bodily functions.
While a very useful health treatment in its own right, when combined with physiotherapy it can be even more effective in the treatment of many physical ailments, including spinal pain, osteo and rheumatoid arthritis, chronic and acute injuries and even skin and stress related problems. We also offer ear acupuncture (auricular therepy)a gentle form of acupuncture which can be used for all the same conditions, as well as helping control addictions, it can be used to give a gentle lasting effect between treatments when small plasters with metal seeds are applied to the acupuncture points and left for a few days.
